Delicious Vejer re-opens after lockdown
Delicious new ideas for eating in Vejer.
‘I am out there seeking all that my tastebuds have missed. And discovering new delicious delights too. If you’re wondering where to eat in Vejer comfortably post lock down, here’s my first suggestion. First up was a visit to Corredera 55
What did I eat?
Have you ever tried Mango Gazpacho? I hadn’t but it was winking at me from the menu of recently re-opened Corredera 55 so it had to be done. Verdict- totally fabulous. I even had to ask if there was cream in it – some gourmand I am!!! The creaminess of the mango and perfect balance of extra virgin olive oil and vinegar gave a silky emulsion of utter deliciousness.
Next up, the goats cheese and black olive croquetas were just fabulous and something you just have to eat in Vejer.
Then onto another new addition to the menu, spirallized zucchini & linguini with garlic, roasted cherry toms & juicy succulent gambas – another winner. You can ask for these to be Keto friendly, without the linguini.
Anyone for postres?
I’m not one for postres but when the lovely owner Ellie Cormie said “Annie, you need to try these”. So I felt obliged to, then promptly ate the lot! First a beautifully warm and fluffy white chocolate fondant with red berry coulis. Followed by an extraordinary combination of a cheesecake base, topped with tocino de cielo and glazed with a bitter orange marmalade veil- WOW
What did I drink?
Some beautiful new wines to match this dining in Vejer experience have been added to the list too- but do try an Oloroso with the cheesecake.
Thank you Ellie and C55 staff for the delicious re-introduction to eating out with such a feeling of confidence and safety.
I can’t wait to do it all again 😍
